Every weapon category in Rivals, ranked from S (best) to C, based on how they perform in real duels — with the reasoning behind every tier.
High, consistent damage with forgiving range windows — these win duels even when your aim isn't perfect.
Strong in the right range band, but punish you harder for bad positioning or a missed read than the S-tier picks.
Powerful in specific situations (close corners, area denial) but struggle when the fight doesn't go their way.
High skill ceiling or very situational — usually outclassed by a straightforward gun unless the map favors them.
Reliable backup damage that doesn't fall off — a safety net when your primary runs dry mid-fight.
Solid all-round options that cover most of your primary's blind spots.
Fine, but with a niche that limits how often it's actually the best choice.
Rarely your best option once you've unlocked better secondaries — mostly a novelty pick.
Fast swing speed and generous range make these viable as more than just a last resort.
Good damage or mobility, but slightly slower or shorter-ranged than the top picks.
Dependable but unremarkable — you won't lose to using them, but they won't win fights on their own.
Directly swings round outcomes — healing and area denial are almost never a wasted slot.
Strong situational value once you know how and when to use them.
Useful support pieces that work best paired with a coordinated team in 5v5s.
Niche enough that most players will get more value from a different utility pick.
Primary weapons are judged on damage output, range flexibility, and how forgiving they are in a 1-on-1. Secondaries are ranked on how well they cover your primary's weaknesses when you're forced to swap mid-fight. Melee weapons are scored on both combat value and mobility — some, like the Katana and Scythe, do real work beyond just looking good. Utility items are ranked on how much they swing a round: healing, area denial, and mobility all count.
A weapon's tier isn't the whole story, either — a "B-tier" pick that fits your playstyle and the map you're on will usually beat an "S-tier" pick you're uncomfortable with. Use this list as a starting point, not gospel, and see the Choosing the Right Weapon guide for how to actually apply it.
